What happens after you enquire

Once you submit the form, we call you within one working day to arrange a survey at a time that suits you. The survey is the most important step in the process — it establishes whether a hybrid system is viable for your property and what work is needed.

The surveyor visits your home and measures heat loss for every room. They check your radiator sizes, inspect insulation and pipework, assess the outdoor unit location, and confirm your electrical supply can support the heat pump. The survey takes two to three hours. After it is complete, you receive a written report with a proposed system design, any radiator or pipework changes needed, and a project timeline.

Nothing is installed until the survey is complete and you have reviewed the report. There is no obligation to proceed.

What is a hybrid heating system?

A hybrid heating system pairs an air source heat pump with your existing boiler. The heat pump runs for most of the year, extracting warmth from outdoor air even in sub-zero temperatures. An intelligent controller monitors the outdoor temperature and switches between heat pump and boiler automatically. When conditions are mild, the heat pump handles everything. On the coldest days, the boiler takes over to keep your home warm and your hot water flowing.

This means you get lower-carbon heating for most of the year without giving up the reliability of your boiler. The system works with your existing radiators in many cases — the survey checks whether any need upgrading for the heat pump to operate efficiently.

Who a hybrid system suits

A hybrid system suits homes with an existing boiler that is still serviceable, a wet radiator system already in place, and insulation levels that allow the heat pump to operate efficiently. It is particularly effective for homes heated by oil or LPG, where fuel costs are higher than mains gas.

If your property has no existing boiler, very poor insulation, no space for the outdoor unit, or an electrical supply that cannot support the load, a hybrid system may not be suitable. We will tell you so during the survey rather than after installation.
